Some of the greatest lyrics in hip hop history came from Queen Latifah.  As I watched VH1’s I Love Money, yes sadly I will admit I’m into to the Cooning series of Flavor of Love, I Love New York and it’s newest spin off  I Love Money; though to my defense I did give up on Flavor of Love 3 (that was just too much).  But as I stated as I watched this past Sunday’s episode of I Love Money I was horrified at how Chance a contestant on the show and his brother Real cursed out this girl named Pumpkin as if she were scum of the earth.  I mean the word “bitch” “hoe” was thrown everywhere and I thought to myself how flagrant and freely has this word been thrown around.  What was more upsetting is 1) the host a black male said nothing as these 2 men brazenly cursed this women out, 2) none of the other men or producers stopped this, no security, nada and 3) some of the women (Hoopz) in particular seemed to agree with this barage of insults. 

I’m trying to figure out when did it become common for a man to just totally and so openly disrespect a woman.  Maybe I’m in a bubble, I don’t know but to see 2 black men go off like that was just shameful.  I hope their mother was sorry for their display.  We’ve always known that as a community we have our share of issues.  There’s generational post traumatic slavery that can be blamed for some of the ways we conduct ourselves, but for some reason this “bitch” calling was soooo disrespectful there’s just no excuse.  For any man to refer to a woman as a female dog which implies she can be humped on without permission has to be one of the most degrading things next to being called a hoe.  What is most puzzling is not only do these 2 men have a mother of course but one I believe has a daughter!  I’m sure their defense is that their not calling all women bitches, but to call any woman a bitch without any regard is still sick in my book.  I have lost all respect for these 2 brothas!  And I hope their mother slaps the shit out of them; if she doesn’t she may be the biggest bitch of them all, apparently she may have let just anyone hump her and produce those two!

A little late but a start! I hope somewhere somehow they recognize reparations. It’s incredible how they think we’re so shallow that we want a personal reparation of what’s equaled of the 40 acres and a mule, which I’m sure today would convert to a mansion and a Benz! While I wouldn’t turn that down, my priority is re-investing what was taken and denied from us. Simple things like education, housing, medical injustice, etc. As an African American/Hispanic woman I’m appalled at the rate we’re in debt due to student loans, medical emergencies etc. as opposed to our white counterparts. See I would appreciate reparations in that form! Help us like you help the Jews, the Japanese and all others.
