The Pot Calling the Kettle Black

Throughout this election Maverick McCain and his sidekick Calamity Jane have constantly misconstrue and blatantly lie about Barack Obama’s affiliations to everything.  Everytime I turn around there’s somebody Obama suppossedly knew whether it be a direct relation or through layer of acquaintances, they always suggest, wait suggest that’s too kind of a word, they INSIST his relations to anybody should be in question.  Afterall he’s a Muslim who attended a Christian church for 20 years and who’s kids were baptized there.  Well with all this propaganda, it seems like a good case of the Pot calling the Kettle black (no pun intended, but it is some type of poetic justice).  John John John or Sarah would say there you go John (Joe).  Several times throughout this campaign I heard of the Keating Five but with Obama being the MAN that he is, he refuses to stoop to their level, but honestly ”O” this Keating Five thing ain’t no joke.  McCain was guilty, guilty, guilty and he got the nerve to talk about how Obama associates himself with terrorist.  I believe the quote was “He pals around with terrorist”..  As we say “Nigga please” yes even John McCain can be called a Nigga, it’s not just for black people, Nigga is a characteristic trait and John has just showed he definitely carries the Nigga DNA charateristic trait.  Look at this video and you’ll see why I’m going there.  On another note peeps do your best to research everything you hear about this election, don’t let the news source be your primary vehicle for information, do it on your own and judge for yourself.  I have to admit I’ve never been one for politics.  In the past I listened to a few debates and then I’m done.  But now I find myself researching candidates in depth, hell I’m my own “Truth Squad” CNN ain’t got nothing on me !  I urge you fellow Americans (damm I’m getting all Kennedyesque)  despite what the Maverick team likes to say you know you’re a real American, but I urge you to research, learn and inform yourself.  This is the most important election in our time.  We will live to tell our grandchildren about this.  Get out there, know your stuff, back yourself up, learn to defend your candidate and properly TRASH the other side.  Don’t do it with the typical “Well I heard” no back your shit up and that’s exactly what this video will show you about Mr. Maverick! Me No Speaky English

The biggest lesson learned when I entered Corporate America was how to speak. I’m not a mute. I’m not from another country but coming from the Bronx and entering predominantly white Corporate America I had to learn how to speak “their” way. My way was no longer acceptable. It indicated that I was uncultured, possibly uneducated. Basically I was a foreigner in my own country. Their way meant no slang, pronounce all your words properly including adding the ending (i.e, stop dropping the Y’s and K’s). This was a task that I was self conscious about and made it a point to learn how to speak properly in this new world. Many may think this came easy for me, but a girl from the South Bronx with a Puerto Rican accent who looks black and grew up around slang this was quite a challenge. 21 years in Corporate America and I still get told that my accent is heard. I’ve even been compared to sound like Jennifer Lopez. I don’t know whether to take that as a compliment or an insult. Now at the ripe age of getting my grown on at 39, it has come to my attention that once again I’m not speaking the right language.

Apparently the new language is that of your average Joe or Jane (God only knows what’s the female equivalent of the average name). This language requires me to add unnecessary “a’s” to the end of a word, drop the “y’s”, only pronounce the “in” and not the “g” for “ing” at the end. I have to learn new slang; I wasn’t aware that “dude” was so universal. As I look to even consider learning this new language which I won’t, fuck it, you wanted corporate professionalism sounding white to equate with being intelligent that’s what you got! Now you want me to be average. See I come from a world where average is not good enough. Hell, above average is not good enough! However, I stand amazed when watching candidates on TV talk about their the average “Joe’s”, Sarah Palin, John McCain, Joe Biden and even Barack at some point. They all claim to be average and some more than others go out their way to speak like their from some Beverly Hillbilly (sp) episode. Since when does speaking improper English become acceptable?!?!? All to prove you’re like us? Or to mock us?? If we become a nation that can’t even speak our native language properly, what in the world does that say about us?

I like that I know how to speak and write proper English. I love the fact that I teach my daughter how to speak properly. It’s no diss on ebonics or the average Joe talk, it’s just common sense. How tiring is it to hear some mispronounce words all to be down. If you’re 15 years old, OK, I’ll accept it, but only for a minute. It can only be cute for some time and that time is short. It kills me that those intending to run our country would stoop to such mediocrity to appear normal. I bet if a survey were taken to see how many people speak this way the number would be laughable. Even those who purposely speak this way know in their hearts that anyone else who also speaks this way is not considered intelligent, not that they are not, but they are not CONSIDERED! And this is what we need to run this country someone who is CONSIDERED INTELLIGENT! The leader of this country is a representation of who we are. We may not always agree with that leader, but we should all agree that their representation should be one that is sound and solid and that includes proper English.

America grow up we’re in a crisis and this is no time to act like you’re “down by law” (old hip-hop heads get this one ). If the average Joe’s who can’t speak properly is what runs this country then we’re all in some shit, really!!! I want my country to be governed by someone who can speaky English, not someone who really knows how but decides to dumb it down to converse on our level. A person like this tells me alot of what they think about the American citizens and what they think this country should represent and trust me the picture is not pretty. Smarten up America, like the slogan says “A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste” – Don’t waste your’s on pretending to be stupid!

Obama Supporters Beware – Vote Vote Vote

The Republican party have their panties all in a bunch because the media is proclaiming that Obama is leading in the polls plus the “O” and not Oprah has raised way more money than Maverick McCain. With all that being said don’t sleep on the Republicans. I can’t say that I’m happy that the media is proclaiming a Democratic win. I wish they keep their opinions to themselves and just let it be. Being an Obama supporter it does sound contrary to my stance on his campaign, however, when you shout out your secrets it will be used against you! That’s just simple gaming strategy. At this point the Republicans are wrapping up their campaign, trust me their focusing their efforts on the big day. Can somebody say “Voter Suppresion”! Beware it’s been around for a while, matter of fact the last 2 elections. Bush elected twice, please even his wife was surprised! The Republicans have insulted democracy to no end. Just look at it, a win for the Republicans means a win for the rich, less taxes, more money in their pockets and life style of extravaganza extradonaire. Who in the world would want to give this up! I know I wouldn’t. But peeps here’s what the Reaking Republicans would do – they’ll attack at the polls, they’ll misconstrue how the votes are counted and who’s voting (Democratic or Republican). They’ll try every deceitful thing in their power and the most evil thing they could do is create diversion and just plain ole rob the election. Take a look at Mark Crispin Miller’s transcript on the Bill Moyer Journal aired this past Friday on PBS. He has plenty to say and provides much needed information on how elections can be robbed. Remember Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004, we don’t need another state electoral board acting up! Read on!!

5 Minutes of Fame – The James T. Harris Story

Black on Black crime, sell outs and trying to get some shine always seem to come out when someone of color is doing something positive. First it was Toni Morrison then Bob Johnson and now this unknown radio host James T. Harris with his pleading speech to John McCain to please go after Obama with all that you have. I believe and I may be paraphrasing but he said something like “I beg of you”. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t blame anyone who shares differences that is how God has made us. There’s a reason why we have a conscious and the ability to “choose”. What I have an issue with is doing this without merit. Think about it, to tell someone I beg you to go after him from one black man to the next. And then McCain went on to hug him as the rest of the white crowd gallantly cheered. I swear someone had to be thinking “Great even the Nigger is saying to hang the Nigger”. There is something so sinister about this! Watching this display brought back memories of when slave owners or post slavery KKK went after black men and other black men who wanted to get in good for whatever reason would turn their “brothas” in. All I could think of when I watched this was how many times have white men went after black men and to see one of us beg one to do so is just so alarming and sad to say the very least.

Mr. Harris totes his conservatism as being the reason (see attached interviews with Fox of course and Don Lemon of CNN). However, how conservative is he while wearing 2 earrings??. If you going to play the part go all the way. He may want to ask Clarence Thomas for tips. I doubt Mr. Harris is a conservative as he pretends to be. I believe this is a case of 5 minutes of fame and some much needed boosted ratings for his show at the expense of a phenomenal man and the rest of the black men who try their best every day to protect themselves from Joe Cracker who so want to go after them. James T. Harris if you are truly a Republican conservative I cannot fault you on that. However, I BEG YOU to examine your history and carefully choose your words before you sick a white man on another black man. They may like you for a minute but trust me one day someone may sick one on YOU!!!

The Sarah Palin Effect on the Friendship Factor

Sarah Palin – what can I say that hasn’t already been said by intelligent people. God will not let me insult my intelligence nor my soul with even trying to comprehend this woman and those who choose to say she speaks like them or she is like them have tons of soul searching to dive into! Now with that said, I have to admit my disdain for this woman has affected my “white” friendships who I’m now demoting to acquaintances. I know this sounds crazy and one should know that politics and friendships should be kept separate, but let’s be honest with ourselves, politics do govern how we feel about the state of our society and what role we play in it. It’s OK if you’re a Republican and you can back what you say. But I have a serious problem with white intelligent women, I’m talking MBAs, Attorneys, etc. who can turn around and say “I love Sarah Palin”. Then as I grimace they go on to say, she’s a regular girl, she’s like me, talks like me, acts like me. And I stand dumbfounded I wonder when the hell have any of my white so-called friends ever said the words, heck ya, change is a comin, you betcha, the list goes on and on. And when has any of these white women attorneys, professionals decided to wink in meetings or taken the liberty to degrade anybody without substance (wait maybe they do a little of that ), but everything else give me a fucking break! No, Sarah Palin does not speak or act like you. You should be insulted if someone even insinuates such a thing. I seriously doubt if your white 17 year old daughter comes home pregnant it becomes a blessed event. Don’t play, you white people know if you’re teenage daughter comes home pregnant, you’ll be having a fit, hell you’ll do like Bree on Desperate Housewives and pretend the baby is yours by putting a pillow on top your stomach or you’ll send your precious little girl away to some “special” school. She has the baby and a nice young white infertile couple adopt the baby (can someone say Juno). You know that’s the drill so cut the bullshit. But of all sudden every white woman is tolerant of teenage pregnancy. You didn’t seem tolerant when Laquisha was having babies at 17. No, these are you exact words, “Laquisha is lazy, her parents didn’t teach her well and the best is “she just wants to be on welfare and we “white” people have to take care of her baby with our tax dollars”. Question – Palin fanatics – guess who’s paying for Bristol’s new baby, answer – “US” the tax payers. How hypocritical, now it’s OK but when Laquisha does it, do I hear “double standard” or as I like to say – just plain ole full of shit!!!

My issue with all of this despite the obvious is how in the world can I be friends with someone who shares this sentiment all of a sudden. As I stand baffled I’m like are you the same person I had dinner and drinks with. The person who I thought we shared the same family values. I’m like what the hell, all of sudden you’re heck ya, promoting teenage pregnancy, since when. I’ll tell you since when, since a black man is coming close to the presidency. All of sudden these things that were not OK now have the blessing to be OK. Shocked!!! Well honestly I shouldn’t be. I’ve never fully trusted any white person. Let’s face it, a race that has enslaved us, demoralized us and perpetuates institutional racism has never quite been our friend. However, there are 2 things that white people can not come out and just say. The first is the word Nigger which simply kills them because they created it and I’m sure they feel they should still have the right to say it. The other is it’s morally incorrect to openly say you wouldn’t vote for a black man, don’t get me wrong you have some hicks who have no problem saying this but the majority of whites know that saying this openly is not well received so what do they do; they use the Sarah Palin Effect and that this to make up some bull that she’s an average woman. I guess average is a hockey mom who moose hunts and have dead shells of bears and other animals in her office. Yep that’s the average woman (wink wink)! Again BULLSHIT!!! Some may comment that I shouldn’t let this affect my friendships. But you tell me how can I not. Here are some people that I hung out with who have no respect for people of my race who are like me. In a nutshell they’re saying I don’t think a black man can be a president and there’s no concrete substance as to why only that he is a black man. They’ll never say it but to champion for Palin speaks volumes. I would even tolerate support for McCain no matter how embalmed he looks. But a vote or consideration for Palin you gots to be kidding me!!!! This makes me wonder how do you really feel?? How you do feel about me? About my daughter and her future? About my capabilities? At this point trust me I wonder no more, the TRUE COLORS have surfaced. I look at these white people who’ve I had friendships with and say to myself you can say all you want but you’re too punk to say how you really feel and for that I can’t be your friend. How can I befriend someone who thinks less of me and my people, who is ignorant enough to put this country in jeopardy because of their racist attitudes, which they proclaim they don’t have, please we know better! This election is causing all of us to examine who we are and what we believe in. I honestly feel all of us should be truthful and when being confronted with the truth we should not sugar coat it in any way. The Palin effect has caused me to re-examine some of my so called friendships and I’m probably the only person of color saying this but thank you Sarah, without you I wouldn’t really know who is truly real or not. Your campaigning if that’s what you call it has helped me muffle through the camouflage of fake friendships. I have yet to tell any of my white acquaintances who fake that they agree with Palin that I will no longer have nothing to do with them. I’m sure the day will come when I have to face them and they have to face me and when that day arrives I’ll be sure to let them have it and open up the heavens with a sleuth of truths. In my opinion these women need to put the white sheet over their head, burn a cross and keep it moving!
